In 1978, the ground layer at Gidley Woodland was dominated by quack and reed canary grass, burdock and nettle, but some native members of the spring flora were reported to persist.
Parking is possible at the south edge of the natural area, just off the road, but may be challenging in wet conditions. Alternative location is at the corner of Farm Ln. and Forest Rd. if conditions are wet.
