Minnis Woodland, Location Map

A major portion of the woods was cleared for bee hives and a log cabin that was formerly used for girls’ physical education. The log cabin is now used for storage of beekeeping equipment.
 

Access

Open from dawn until dusk.

  • Minnis Woodland Location Map
  • South Campus, farms area, Pavilion Dr., west of the Pavilion.
  • Woodlot surrounded by a chain link fence except for the southwestern edge that is unfenced.
  • Accessibility is limited due to the natural growth of vegetation and the terrain.

Parking

  • When events are NOT scheduled at the MSU Pavilion, parking is available at Parking Lot 201, west of the Pavilion.

Features

  • Area: 5 acres
  • Mixed age stand with large sugar maple and beech
  • Also contains basswood, white oak, and swamp white oak
